Synopsis
In
The Silent Sister, Riley MacPherson has spent her entire life believing that
her older sister Lisa committed suicide as a teenager. Now, over twenty years later, her father has
passed away and she's in New Bern, North Carolina cleaning out his house when
she finds evidence to the contrary. Lisa
is alive. Alive and living under a new
identity. But why exactly was she on the
run all those years ago, and what secrets are being kept now? As Riley works to uncover the truth, her
discoveries will put into question everything she thought she knew about her
family. Riley must decide what the past
means for her present, and what she will do with her newfound reality.
My Thoughts
I loved this
book! This book is so amazing; it was like a breath of fresh air for me. I haven’t
been reading a lot of books lately mainly because I’ve been in a sort of rut. However
this book gave me hope again. It has an amazing storyline, characters to root
for and so many twist and turns there is nothing I didn’t like and enjoy about
this read.
The story focuses
on Riley who has come back to her hometown to deal with the aftermath of her
father’s death. She feels she is all alone although she has a brother but he
has issues beyond what Riley can help him with. While there she starts to
uncover things about her father that just don’t seem right. Then she realizes
she didn’t know her father at all. He has been keeping secrets beyond anything
she could imagine. It comes out that her sister Lisa is indeed alive. Riley
craving family decides she will try and find her and find out more importantly why
she faked her death. Never did Riley realize that finding her sister she would
uncover some long buried secrets and soon none of their lives will be the same.
This is my
first experience reading Diane Chamberlain and let me say it will NOT be the
last. Why haven’t I read her books before?? I’m now looking into her previous
novels and wanting to read more. She writes in a way that I never saw anything
coming and I loved that! Usual I can see thing coming from a mile away and that
kind of spoil things for me. This is one of those reads that will definitely be
telling people about. So if you want a fresh and great read this is the one for
you. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
In honor of
this awesome read I’m so happy to offer up TWO awesome books by Diane
Chamberlain. The Silent Sister and Necessary Lies are two books I know you will
love. One winner will receive BOTH book. U.S. only.
