Waiting
on Wednesday [WoW] is a weekly event hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine that
spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Widows Club by Alexandra Coutts
Expected
Publication: November 10, 2015
Publisher:
Farrar, Straus and Giroux BYR
Synopsis
First
came love, then came marriage, and then...
For
seventeen-year-old Tam, running off to marry her musician boyfriend is the
ideal escape from her claustrophobic high-school life on the island, and the
ultimate rebellion against her father and stepmother. But when Tam becomes a
widow just weeks later, the shell-shocked teen is forced to find her way
forward by going back to the life she thought she’d moved beyond—even as her
struggle to deal with her grief is forcing her to reinvent herself and reach out
to others in ways she never imagined.
Why I Can’t Wait
Definitely
something different and I’m curious to see how the story goes.

Oh wow - seeing that title alone I expected this one to be NA, but since the protagonist is 17, it's more likely YA or a mix between both. Awesomely - I'll need to keep this one on my radar. Thanks for sharing it :)
ReplyDeleteReally no to interested in the Love story due to the fact I'm a guy, but nice WOW.

I, too, thought we'd be talking about young widows in the 20's or 30's, but wow. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a mature YA, great pick!

Oh, yes, now I am definitely curious. Not what a teen would expect to have happen.
ReplyDeleteHere is mine: “EVIL NEVER DIES”
This book sounds pretty good. But I think it will make me cry buckets, so I am not sure if I wanted to read this one or not.
ReplyDeleteDreams @ Once Upon A Dream Books
